据新华社消息，北京市人民政府天安门地区管理委员会2025年4月28日发布通告称，天安门城楼自2025年5月6日起暂停对外开放，以进行设备维护和检修工作。

目前，天安门城楼的施工围挡已经拆除，重新亮相，但恢复开放时间另行通告。
