选择性必修一 Unit 2  Lesson 3 Getting To The Top  基于英语活动观的教学设计

普通高中英语课程倡导指向学科核心素养发展的英语学习活动观 和自主学习、合作学习、探究学习等学习方式。教师应设计具有综合性、关联性和实践性特点的英语学习活动,使学生通过学习理解、应用实践、迁移创新等一系列融语言、文化、思维为一体的活动,获取、阐释和评判语篇意义,表达个人观点、意图和情感态度,分析中外文化异同,发展多元思维和批判性思维,提高英语学习能力和运用能力(《普通高中英语课程标准(2017 年版 2020 年修订)》)。

本课是本单元的阅读课。一位铁人三项运动员讲述自己走向职业顶峰的故事,属于“人与自我”主题语境。


**Teaching Procedures: **


**Objective:** By the end of the lesson, students will understand the sacrifices and motivations behind an athlete's journey to the Olympics.

Understanding the Drive of Olympic Athletes

**Materials Needed:**

1. Article excerpt about an Olympic athlete's journey.

2. Video clips or interviews of athletes discussing their training and sacrifices.

3. Visual aids like infographics or charts showing the dedication required in various sports.

4. Group discussion prompts.

**Procedure:**

1. **Introduction (5 minutes):**

  - Begin by asking students if they know what it takes to be an Olympic athlete.

  - Show them visual aids or videos about the training regimen of athletes.

  - Introduce the article excerpt as a case study for today's lesson.

2. **Reading & Discussion (15 minutes):**

  - Divide students into groups of three to four.

  - Each group is assigned a section of the article to read and discuss.
