昭通自古就是出滇入川的重要通道，是内地通往南亚、东南亚和云南通往内地的双向大走廊。特殊的地理位置，让昭通商贾云集、马帮四至，天南海北的美食在这里融合，形成了独特的昭通美食。

昭通美食，既有川菜、黔菜、滇菜的精髓，又有独特、包容、从容的特点。各道特色菜，以其鲜、香、嫩，俘获广大食客的味蕾。

每天从油糕饵块、稀豆粉的叫卖声中醒来，中午流连于高原生态烤全羊、八大碗等昭通招牌菜，晚上又在威信烙锅、昭通小肉串的烟火气中沉醉。当然，燃面、牛肉干巴等众多美食，也让食客们一尝难忘。
